Privacy Policy
Effective July 4, 2026
AuxControl (“we”, “us”) is a social music experiment for queueing and voting on music. This policy describes what we collect when you use auxcontrol.live and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Session data. The display name you enter, the tracks you pick, and your votes. Sessions and everything in them are automatically deleted 24 hours after they're created.
- Identity cookies. A signed cookie that remembers which session you're in and which player you are. It contains no personal information and expires with the session. These cookies are essential — the session can't work without them.
- Music account tokens (hosts only). If you choose to connect Spotify or Apple Music as a host, we receive a temporary access token from that service so your guests' picks can play on your account. Tokens are stored with the session and deleted with it. We never see your password, and we don't read anything from your account beyond what's needed to search the catalog and control playback. Jukebox mode involves no account at all.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). See Google's privacy policy.
- Payments. Party Pass purchases are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we receive only a confirmation that a session's pass was purchased.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, we don't build profiles of you, and we don't keep anything after your session expires. There are no accounts and no email lists.
Data retention and deletion
All session data — names, picks, votes, scores, and any music-service tokens — is deleted automatically within 24 hours. Because there are no accounts, there is nothing further to delete on request, but you can contact us with any privacy question at sean.p.kavanagh6@gmail.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
